One of the joys of our job with Cru is that we often get asked for relationship mentoring. Jody and I have been married 15 years and we work hard at our marriage, but honestly it’s one of the great joys of my life. We long to pass on the things we’ve learned along the way and help other relationships flourish.
Anyway, it’s so great to have these couples around our dinner table or in our living room talking through what it means to follow Jesus together. The conversations cover the gamut of life from conflict, to communication, to future plans, to spiritual and character growth.
Thanh and Natalie: Thanh was in my small group huddle last year and it’s been a joy to watch him trust the Lord with his new relationship with Natalie. Both are young professionals trying to live differently than the common culture around them. We get the privilege of being a sounding board and helping them sort through direction for their relationship and lives.
Caleb and Morgan: Caleb and Morgan are young professionals in our city who are engaged to be married. They came to us looking for premarital counseling and help walking through some difficult circumstances. We’ve laughed and cried together. They are deep in the midst of surrendering all areas of their lives and about to set a date to be married.
Thanks for allowing us to influence these people. We fully believe that healthy marriages are a key to seeing our city transformed. Join us in praying for these couples to grow and flourish.
