Summer is here. Our staff team are now headed all over the world to provide leadership to summer mission projects. Alaska, Middle East, Lake Tahoe, Montana! We have the privilege of staying home this year, which is a a blessing for our little family. After a crazy year of dealing with housing issues and surgery we proposed a summer assignment in Portland and it was approved. Here’s what I’ll be doing this summer…
1) Taking three seminary classes to continue to sharpen my biblical and leadership ability. I’m taking a theology class, a leadership class and a class entitled Discovering your ministry potential. Lot’s of reading. Lot’s of thinking. I love it!
2) Expand our ministry partners team. We continue to give concerted effort to develop our monthly support base. This summer gives us a great opportunity to connect with a number of new people.
3) Gather new contacts of interested students at Portland State’s new student orientations over the the summer. Portland State has about 6 new student orientations over the summer that are about the only time to connect with incoming freshmen. Our dream is to connect with students who are interested in getting involved before school even starts in the fall. Please pray for God’s provision for open doors during this time. We will also host a couple of informal hang out nights for students that are in town at our house!
